| Why am I a photographer? Simply, because I associate all the best times in life with a camera. Is it not true that those memories we so cherish are always the ones we want captured in a photo? Birthdays, family gatherings, friends, weddings, travel, parties, love, laughter...a camera is never far away. Personally, I am most artistically inspired by developing countries, grand mountains, and vivid color. Every photo holds a special place in my heart. I remember the young girl in Nepal sitting while hauntingly staring at me on the step....I remember the Dervish whirling...I remember the zebras staring.... ...I remember. I photograph, and travel, slowly...with quiet intention...absorbing and trying to capture (with both lens and soul) the beauty around me. Rather than searching, I prefer to sit quietly and be observant. Some of my very best photos, and travel experiences, have come not from the motion of seeking a photo, but from finding the right spot and then the stillness of letting the shot come to me and being prepared when it does. _____________________ Jonathan is a seasoned world traveler, specializing in photographs of people, landscape, abstracts, and above all, cultures abroad.
